Dialysis Technician Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced dialysis technician to join our team. As a dialysis technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of dialysis treatments to patients with kidney failure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the dialysis unit and nephrology department.
  • Manage hemodialysis machines to provide adequate dialysis treatment for patients.
  • Explain dialysis procedures and equipment operation to patients.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions during dialysis.
  • Advise patients on nutrition and dietary schedules during dialysis.
  • Ensure the quality of water purification systems (R.O. plant) used for hemodialysis.
  • Prepare and implement SOPs for renal dialysis.
  • Conduct nephrology assessments, including medication types, presenting symptoms, and medical conditions.
  • Manage equipment and instruments, ensuring regular maintenance and optimal working condition.
  • Manage patients' hematologic abnormalities and adjust erythropoietin dosing under nephrologist supervision.
  • Monitor patients' monthly labs, follow up, and adjust medications accordingly under nephrologist supervision.
  • Safeguard all dialysis unit accessories.
  • Accurately collect and report data (vital signs, weight) and observe patient conditions, reporting changes to staff.
  • Treat patients politely, answer their questions patiently, and guide them properly.
  • Regularly check equipment for accuracy and report faults.
  • Participate in developing patient care plans.
  • Monitor dialysis adequacy and access site conditions (AVF, AVG).
  • Ensure proper handling and non-misuse of equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dialysis equipment and room, similar to ICU standards.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of the water treatment plant.
  • Verify patients' viral and HIV status before dialysis and dialyze infected patients on separate machines.
  • Monitor prescribed dialysis dose, dry weight, anticoagulation, and ultrafiltration according to patient status.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the nephrologist.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in dialysis technology or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dialysis-related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in dialysis unit and nephrology department.
  • Experience with hemodialysis machines and equipment.
  • Familiarity with water purification systems (R.O. plant).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
