Junior Oracle Database Administrator Job Summary

We are seeking a certified Junior Oracle DBA (OCP) to assist in managing, maintaining, and securing our Oracle Database environments, including Exadata, Oracle Vault, and Database Firewall implementations. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of Oracle database administration, performance tuning, and security best practices, with a willingness to learn advanced technologies under the guidance of senior DBAs.

  • Achieve operational excellence by ensuring the smooth running of Oracle databases and related systems.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a team environment and are eager to develop their skills in database administration, performance tuning, and security.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for Database Administration certification.
  • Foundational knowledge of Oracle database administration, performance tuning, and security best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Installation, configuration, and patching of Oracle databases and Exadata systems.
  • Database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning using AWR, ASH, OEM, and SQL Tuning Advisor.
  • Backup and recovery operations using RMAN, including disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Deployment of Oracle Database Schema, Tables, Views, Sequences, Package, Procedure, function etc. and its compilation.
  • Configuration and maintenance of Oracle Database Firewall for security monitoring and threat prevention.
  • Work with Data Guard for high availability and replication setups.
  • Apply quarterly security patches (PSU/BP) and assist in database upgrades.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
  • Collaborate with senior DBAs and IT security teams to enforce database security policies.
  • Knowledge of Linux / Windows for database Administration & Configuration including batch scripting/jobs scheduling.
Qualifications
  • Mandatory: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for Database Administration.
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle Exadata architecture.
  • Understanding of Oracle security features (TDE, Vault, Database Firewall, Audit Vault).
  • Hands-on experience with RMAN, Data Guard, and ASM.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) / Cloud Control.
  • Basic Linux/Unix skills for database administration tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
