Senior Database Management Leader Position

This is a senior-level position that requires the candidate to lead and manage a team of database administrators. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in database management, leadership, and technical expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and at least 10 years of experience in database management and leading database teams. They must be proficient in SQL and experienced with multiple relational and non-relational database systems.

The role involves designing, developing, and managing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring databases are secure, scalable, and meet performance requirements. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to work under pressure are essential.

The candidate should have experience working on databases hosted both on-prem and AWS cloud, good working experience with AWS RDS databases, and ability to automate, script, and streamline processes for efficiency and accuracy. Experience with implementing and maintaining Disaster Recovery and High availability is also required.

The selected individual will be responsible for providing expert-level guidance in database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and data modeling. They will lead troubleshooting efforts for complex database issues, optimize existing systems for better performance and cost efficiency, and keep abreast of emerging database technologies and best practices.

The job requires the candidate to collaborate with cross-functional teams, serve as the primary point of contact for database-related audits, and establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for database operations. Providing regular updates to management on database project status and communicating with internal and external stakeholders are also part of the role.

A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or information technology is required. At least 10 years of experience in database management and leading database teams is preferred. Proficiency in SQL and experience with multiple relational and non-relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. is essential. Strong understanding of data architecture, data integration, and ETL processes is also required.

• Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner) and hybrid environments
