Job Overview

This position is focused on driving the success of a representative office through effective management, strategic planning, and relationship-building. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in external relations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to local cultures.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement strategies to achieve departmental goals, aligning with Chamber and Dubai Government objectives.

Team Leadership:

Lead the Representation Office team by setting clear objectives, managing performance, and providing guidance and support to ensure maximum productivity.

Budget Management:

Develop and recommend budgets, ensuring all activities are conducted in line with approved guidelines.

Operational Excellence:

Manage representation office operations by embedding priorities and objectives in local activities conducted, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Develop and implement engagement plans with local business and governmental stakeholders to promote Dubai as a top-tier international business destination.

Credibility Building:

Engage in public forums and present to businesses on relevant topics to build credibility and promote Dubai as a world-class international business hub.

Administrative Support:

Coordinate the execution of administrative activities, including HR, admin, legal, documentation, and other related matters to ensure efficient operation of the representative office.

Market Intelligence:

Identify and explore local business opportunities and collect local market intelligence data to provide continuous feedback to the International Relations team.

Promotion and Networking:

Manage the organization and execution of promotional and networking events at the host country in collaboration with other departments and local stakeholders.

Guidance and Advice:

Provide guidance and advice to the International Relations team on all host country-relevant activities and issues to ensure timely resolution and promotion of Dubai as an international business hub.

Relationship Building:

Establish and manage key relationships in the host country to serve the Chamber's and members' best interests and support the achievement of the departmental strategy.

Requirements
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Business Administration, or other relevant fields.
  • Experience:
    • 8 – 10 years of progressive experience in external relations in government/private organizations in that local market, with at least 4 years in a managerial level.
  • Skills:
    • Bilingual (English and local language) with strong writing skills in both languages.
    • Strong communication skills, business etiquette, and established business network/wide PR portfolio in the local market.
    • Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills.
    • Established business knowledge and awareness on economic and political global trends.
    • Ability to adapt to the local culture.
