Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable using advanced software systems such as NetSuite and Bill.com.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing vendor invoice coding and approval workflows, establishing relationships with new and existing vendors, and ensuring timely and accurate bill payments.

You will be the key contact for all vendor-related matters, including manual check requests, wires, and vendor portal payments. Additionally, you will investigate and resolve problems with vendor invoicing, manage returned payments, and collect update information from vendors.

In this role, you will also assist in the 1099 process by collecting W-9's and ensuring accurate coding. Furthermore, you will perform various accounting duties, including GL account maintenance, recording journal entries for accruals, and reconciling AP accounts.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an accounts payable role
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Competency with productivity systems, including NetSuite, Bill.com, and Excel
  • Basic data entry skills
  • Comfortable with math and calculations
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
