The Job Description:
The Product Development Manager oversees the end-to-end product development process from inception to shipment. They ensure the right quality, vendor, price, and timely delivery through product development, costing, price negotiation, and close collaboration with buyers and suppliers.
- Manage product development, manage costing, and negotiate prices.
- Monitor sampling approval processes, handle lab dips, bulk color, and quality submissions, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Regularly update internal customers on production status and shipment of garments.
- Communicate order details and requirements to suppliers/production units, ensuring quantity, quality, specifications, and delivery dates are met.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related field.
- At least 4-5 years of proven experience in merchandising.
- Knowledge of Socks manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim, and print techniques.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for product presentation and visual aesthetics.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest merchandising trends and best practices.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
Competency Requirements:
Behavioral competencies include decision-making, communication, conflict management, and problem-solving.
