Senior Software Engineer II - Driving Innovation in Cloud Services

As a Senior Engineer on the Application Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in powering applications for millions of users worldwide. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and build next-generation cloud services that simplify developers' lives, improve efficiency, and provide critical features for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of new architecture and major functional upgrades for our Application Platform offering.
  • Collaborate with product teams to design and implement cutting-edge products and services for developers.
  • Lead the architecture for complex systems by identifying current limitations and working with the team to develop innovative solutions.
  • Ensure operational reliability as a member of the product on-call rotation.
  • We utilize technologies like Kubernetes, Go, gRPC, MySQL, Istio, Prometheus, and Cloud Native Buildpacks.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a software engineer, developer, or programmer building software used by thousands of users.
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Golang and experience building APIs (gRPC).
  • Operational knowledge of Kubernetes is beneficial, or passion to learn Kubernetes operations.
  • Ability to navigate distributed systems complexity and operate them in production environments.
  • Contribution to the reliability and performance of App Platform systems.
  • Ability to contribute throughout all phases of a service lifecycle from conception through design, development, deployment, and operation.
  • A commitment to monitoring and observability.
  • Systems thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Bonus: Experience operating Kubernetes in production at large scales.
