Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, including cash expenses, payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.
  • Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary.
  • Spearhead complete finance and accounting & purchase functions.
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
  • Experience with United States incorporation accounting and tax is a plus.
  • Handle financial closure of books, budgets, income tax, service tax, excise & taxation, Companies Act, etc.
  • Coordinate statutory and internal audits and ensure assessments under various Acts are completed.
  • Strategic financial control, planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with private limited company regulations and internal audits.
  • Manage tax compliance for withholding, income, and sales tax.
  • Budget allocation to the marketing team for new customer acquisitions via online advertising.
  • Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
  • Identify methods for minimizing financial risk to the company.
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in decision making, both long-term and short-term.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports as necessary.
  • Prepare and close accounts in accordance with applicable laws (Pakistan) and present financial reports to CEO.
  • Client billing and invoicing; manage client accounts.
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software used for financial transactions, such as Stripe, Wave, and QuickBooks.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies, SOPs, and procedures for the company.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with a software house is required. Segment experience should include software development houses, IT services, and startups.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • 3–4 years of experience in a finance role with an IT company/software house.
  • Ability to manage the finance department independently.
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks is mandatory.
  • Leadership skills and experience with employee management.
  • Understanding of data privacy standards.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of business principles and practices.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel, data processing, and business intelligence skills.
