Head of Sales Strategy

This leadership role oversees the development and execution of sales strategies across various business functions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction to direct reports, aligning their efforts with organizational goals and objectives.
  • They will foster a collaborative work environment among teams and develop initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, sales effectiveness, and market engagement.
  • A key aspect of this role is developing and implementing plans to optimize route-to-market strategies, drive the adoption of modern sales tools, and boost productivity and efficiency.
  • The successful candidate will manage the sales function's budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and close collaboration with commercial finance partners.
  • They will stay up-to-date on industry best practices and competitor strategies, ensuring that functional strategy and execution remain aligned with evolving market requirements.

Sales Planning and Performance:

  • Key responsibilities include analyzing business performance metrics, ensuring optimal collaboration between sales, supply chain, and finance teams, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • They will guide Manager Sales and Cycle Planning in developing accurate sales forecasts and sales cycle plans.

Distribution Strategy & Sales Capability:

  • Driving the adoption of modern sales tools and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency is a critical aspect of this role.
  • The successful candidate will identify opportunities for sales capability development, design and execute enhancement programs, and devise an annual sales development plan.

Trade Engagement:

  • Developing and monitoring trade marketing plans, identifying opportunities for brand visibility, trader engagement, and product placement are essential components of this role.
  • They will lead merchandising operations and implement trade visibility strategies, coordinating with brand teams for a consistent consumer experience.

Requirements:

  • MBA / Master's / Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably within FMCG category.
  • Strategic Leadership and Vision, Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication, Sales and Market Planning, Sales Capability Development, Trade Engagement and Marketing Expertise.
