
Crisis Support Professional

This is a remote opportunity for individuals to work as crisis support specialists, providing resources and guidance to those in need.
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain confidentiality, and effectively communicate with callers, coworkers, and supervisors.
Candidates must be available to work one of three shifts: morning, afternoon, or overnight (central time zone).
As part of a team rotation, specialists will work during disasters and occasional holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide crisis counseling, information & referral, and suicide prevention services via phone, text, and chat.
- Employ active listening techniques to assist callers in resolving mental health issues/concerns.
- Offer critical resources and support to individuals in crisis.
- Accurately complete call reports and contact documentation.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues, as this is a remote, computer-based position.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A reliable laptop/computer with secure and private internet connection.
- Excellent computer skills, including the ability to submit online reports, use email, and utilize internal search databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with callers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary support to callers.
- Ability to work independently and carry out daily tasks to completion, follow prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
