About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance, and operation of our databases.

This role involves working with various database technologies, including MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra. You will need to ensure database availability 24/7, perform regular tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity, and possess excellent knowledge of databases, including multi-node clustering and high availability/disaster recovery techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Server Management: Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
  • Security and Compliance: Develop processes to optimize database security and set and maintain database standards.
  • Performance Tuning: Perform tuning of database systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Application Management: Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
  • Error Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors and recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Automation: Create automation for repetitive database tasks.
  • On-Call Support: Provide on-call support as needed.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
  • Three to Six Years of Experience in database administration, IT, database architecture, or related fields.
  • Experience with Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, and Windows Server Environments.
  • Extensive Experience with Database Technologies, including MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills and Proactive Attitude.
  • Ability to Build Strong Relationships with Internal and External Teams.
  • Deep Understanding of Managing Various Databases, including MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, and other NoSQL technologies.
  • Knowledge of Clustering and Disaster Recovery Solutions for Open-Source Databases.
  • Experience with Backup Strategies for Open-Source Databases.
  • Performance Tuning Expertise.
  • Understanding of Managing Databases On-Premises and In Cloud Infrastructures.
