Job Title: Programme Policy Officer (Gender Specialist)

The World Food Programme is seeking a Programme Policy Officer (Gender Specialist) to lead and coordinate the gender action plan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

The successful candidate will have expertise in conducting gender analysis and integrating gender-sensitive approaches into development projects. They will work closely with an international consultant to support the foundational gender assessment, lead data collection, and address identified gaps throughout implementation.

The incumbent will perform various tasks, including leading the gender component of the project, conducting a comprehensive capacity needs assessment, and developing gender capacity strengthening plans. They will also facilitate the gender assessment process, engage with communities, and collect data on gender barriers faced by vulnerable groups.

The Programme Policy Officer (Gender Specialist) will collaborate with government agencies, women's groups, and local communities to develop and implement simulation exercises, risk matrices, and anticipatory action protocols. They will also generate gender-friendly advisories based on impact-based forecasting products for stakeholders at the local level.

The ideal candidate will have advanced university degree or equivalent in Gender, Development Studies, Economics, Political Science, Anthropology, or any other relevant social science discipline. They should have at least 3 years of professional/managerial experience in gender mainstreaming in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, or related fields.

The successful candidate will possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working with government bodies, women's groups, and local communities. They should also have effective training, presentation, and digital skills, as well as strong communication and coordination skills.
