About the Role

The Civil Engineering Project Manager plays a vital role in overseeing and managing the execution of civil engineering infrastructure, high-rise buildings, public health schemes, and steel structures projects. This includes ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and meeting quality standards.

This position involves leading a team, coordinating with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and local codes. The Civil Project Manager is responsible for budgeting, scheduling, contract negotiations, and project documentation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Review Project Plans: Create detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Project Cost Management: Review estimate project costs, resources, and materials required to stay within budget.
  • Tender and Contract Review: Responsible for reviewing and vetting tender and contract documents, scope of work, bills of quantities (BOQ), and technical specifications.
  • Project Ownership: Complete ownership of assigned projects from pre-tendering stage to completion.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to align goals and expectations.
  • Project Budgeting: Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure the project stays within budget.
  • Procurement and Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and manage procurement processes effectively.
  • Project Team Leadership: Lead and manage project teams, including engineers, architects, subcontractors, and other personnel.
  • Task Assignment and Progress Monitoring: Assign tasks and monitor progress regularly.
  • Effective Communication: Ensure effective communication and coordination between all parties involved.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the construction process to ensure that all work meets design specifications and quality standards.
  • Inspections and Tests: Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all contractual obligations are met, including timelines, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct post-project evaluations to assess the success of the project and identify areas for improvement.
