Insurance Risk Management Expert

Maintaining insurance coverage for the company's assets, including vehicles and equipment, is a critical function that requires regular assessments of risk exposure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Periodically evaluate the company's insurance needs to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain competitive quotes from insurance providers and negotiate favorable terms.
  4. Coordinate with asset custodians to verify the condition and value of insured assets, ensuring accurate valuation and minimization of losses.
  5. Advise on insurance coverage options for imported goods and recommend suitable policies to manage associated risks.
  6. Review and approve tender evaluation reports to ensure adherence to Public Procurement Rules (PPR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  7. Supervise the processing of bills against service contracts for ditching, backfilling, and telecom services, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules.
  8. Verify that cash payments are properly validated and compliant with financial authority guidelines.
  9. Participate in vendor pre-qualification processes to ensure only qualified vendors provide services to the company.
  10. Liaise with excise and shipping departments to facilitate claims processing for lost or damaged consignments.
  11. Coordinate with user departments to gather information on vehicle additions, deletions, and changes, then inform relevant insurance companies.
  12. Obtain employee details from HR and advise insurance companies providing life, health, accident, or other types of cover to employees.
