As a Qualcomm Senior Big Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, creating, modifying, and validating embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world-class products that meet and exceed customer needs.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • ">
  • Completing assigned coding tasks to specifications on time without significant errors or bugs.">
  • Adapting to changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines.">
  • Collaborating with others inside project teams to accomplish project objectives.">
  • Communicating with project leads to provide status and information about impending obstacles.">
  • Quickly resolving complex software issues and bugs.">
  • Gathering, integrating, and interpreting information specific to a module or sub-block of code from a variety of sources in order to troubleshoot issues and find solutions.">
  • Participating in technical conversations with tech leads/managers.">
  • Anticipating and communicating issues with project teams to maintain open communication.">
  • Making decisions based on incomplete or changing specifications and obtaining adequate resources needed to complete assigned tasks.">
  • Prioritizing project deadlines and deliverables with minimal supervision.">
  • Resolving straightforward technical issues and escalating more complex technical issues to an appropriate party (e.g., project lead, colleagues).">
  • Writing readable code for large features or significant bug fixes to support collaboration with other engineers.">
  • Determining which work tasks are most important for self and junior engineers, staying focused, and dealing with setbacks in a timely manner.">
  • Unit testing own code to verify the stability and functionality of a feature.">

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies including Python, AWS, and Big Data tools. You will also have the chance to collaborate with other engineers and participate in technical conversations with tech leads/managers.

We are looking for candidates who have a strong background in software development, data engineering, business intelligence, data science, or related fields. You should have a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.
