Job Title: Medical Director - ENT Department

The ideal candidate will facilitate the Head of Department in managing and supervising clinical and academic activities, as well as patient care. They will assign and delegate duties to senior registrars and registrar staff for a smooth functioning of the department regarding patient care, teaching, and training of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lecture Delivery: Arrange and deliver lectures, seminars, clinical, and practical skills small group discussions, evaluation, and assessment according to curriculum for MBBS/BDS students.
  • Postgraduate Training: Facilitate postgraduate trainees (FCPS and DCPS) for clinical presentations, small group discussions, case-based & problem-based teaching, journal club, teaching psychomotor skills, and preparation for inter-module examinations and dissertations.
  • Clinical Meetings: Assist the Head of Department/Professor in organizing CPC/clinical meetings and conferences in collaboration with other professional organizations.
  • Research and Development: Coordinate and facilitate faculty members and postgraduate trainees in research and development through continuous education and a learning environment, and facilitate their publication requirements as part of career development research activities of the department.
  • Patient Care: Convey knowledge for basic management of common patient care problems, such as emergency treatment and management of emergencies, to develop clinical and practical skills of students.
  • Examinations: Assist and facilitate the Head of Department in conducting examinations of MBBS/BDS.
  • Clinical Rounds: Ensure regular OPD sessions for continuing medical care and manage/supervise new patients referred for specialist advice.
  • Medical Procedures: Conduct medical procedures in the ward under the supervision of senior consultants and develop a proper monitoring mechanism to ensure that all recommended diagnostics and investigations are carried out.
  • Specialist Advice: Provide specialist advice on medical problems of patients referred from other departments.
  • Assessment: Assess patients in the emergency department if required for consultancy.
  • On-Call Commitments: Ensure on-call commitments after regular duty hours to provide cover for critical patients round the clock.
  • Departmental Inquiries: Assist the Head of Department/Professor in departmental confidential inquiries of mortalities.
  • Staff Management: Manage, supervise, and train PGs/MOs/HOs and other paramedical staff to ensure the delivery of quality health services to patients and enhance patient management skills of the staff.
  • Ward Management: Prepare and monitor duty rota of the department including paramedical staff and manage and resolve staff management and placement issues.
  • Hospital Liaison: Maintain close liaison with hospital administration to ensure proper ward management, including patient clinical records and routine matters related to demand, supply, and complaints.
  • Islamic and Medical Ethics: Follow Islamic and medical ethics as per IIMCT mission statement.
