Business Development Manager

The Commercial Manager Business Development role involves all prospecting, business development and leasing of equipment and ground space on Tower infrastructure to named wireless carrier accounts in an assigned geographic area.

  1. Maintain a thorough knowledge of all product and service offerings. Develop a deep understanding of the company's products and services to effectively market and lease communications infrastructure.
  2. Effectively market and lease communications infrastructure, Build-to-Suit capabilities and services to customers within an established geographic area.
  3. Identify new business opportunities with named wireless carriers, tower owners, consultants and other new prospects through research, calls, meetings and presentations.
  4. Achieve new business leasing goals for all products quarterly and annually.
  5. Presentation skills are necessary to capture greater market share while solving customer challenges.
  6. Broaden established customer relationships and develop new relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers to increase account knowledge and influence.
  7. Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
  8. Use effective closing skills to drive new business, i.e., overcome customer objections and/or obstacles throughout the sales process.
  9. Initiate, organize, prepare and lead customer sales calls with consistent follow-through.
  10. Maintain a clear understanding of customers' business, decision-makers and influencers, as well as the budget and approval processes.
  11. Champion customer issues, challenges and opportunities internally while providing excellent customer service.
  12. Provide accurate and timely pipeline and lease-up forecasting in Salesforce.com.
  13. Attend zoning hearings and site visits.

  • Ability to identify key contacts for follow up; excellent ability to communicate project and status updates to team and cross-functionally to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to work with functional groups and different levels of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify quality solutions.
  • Effective in achieving results in a time-sensitive and high volume environment.
  • Good strategic and creative problem solving skills that effectively influence decision making in negotiations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively; strong proficiency in leading dynamic presentations to customers.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
