Senior Database Developer for Microsoft Applications

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer to support our global team in developing new and existing applications using Microsoft tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Design and Development: Design and develop databases with tables, queries, forms, and reports following standard IT processes and data normalization principles on relevant platforms including SQL Server, MS Access, MS Excel, VBA, and Power Platform.
  • VBA Programming: Utilize Visual Basic in Microsoft Applications such as Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint to streamline business processes.
  • Advanced Excel Capabilities: Apply advanced Excel capabilities including pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, and graphing to improve efficiency.
  • Test Planning and Documentation: Develop test plans and software documentation for new releases and code modifications.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with external customers to understand their needs and support other staff with development activities.
  • Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices and established standards are followed.
  • Power Platform Development: Develop advanced solutions on Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps) using various Power Query data sources (SQL Server, SharePoint, etc.).
Requirements:
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in applications programming in the Information Systems industry, specifically in Access database development and VBA.
  • Familiarity with Power Query and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps) and SharePoint.
  • Experience in developing solutions for the automotive or manufacturing industries.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas.
  • Ability to normalize complex data and define referential integrity in Access and MS SQL Server.
  • Ability to programmatically manipulate worksheets and cell properties using VBA.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to researching solutions, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
