Senior Web Developer Needed: We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer with expertise in WordPress and PHP to join our team. As a senior member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex web applications using WordPress and PHP. This role requires a strong understanding of web development principles, including PHP back-end development, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve our existing web applications built using WordPress and PHP
  • Develop new web applications using WordPress and PHP
  • Collaborate with other developers to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Design and implement new features and functionality into WordPress themes and plugins
  • Ensure high-performance and availability of our web applications at all times

Requirements:

  • A minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is a must.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in web development using WordPress and PHP
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
  • Knowledge of proficient understanding of web mark-up, especially HTML5 and CSS3
  • Understanding of client-side scripting, js frameworks, incl jquery
  • Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, ajax
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Chrome DevTools
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice & de-facto standard plugins
  • Experience working with WordPress at a PHP code level
  • Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions
  • Creation of custom post types
  • Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with the WordPress coding standards
  • Creation of clean, logical, well-documented, and re-usable code
  • Theme/Template integration
  • Knowledge and experience of web accessibility
