We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures aligned with strategic goals, especially those supporting Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI).

About the Role

In this position, you'll drive innovation by developing and executing data ingestion and processing workflows for text and unstructured data, including methods for vectorisation and populating vector databases to support Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement robust data pipelines specifically for Machine Learning model training and deployment, leveraging expertise in Snowflake, Python, and cloud technologies.
  • Develop and execute ELT/ETL processes within Snowflake and AWS to integrate diverse, large-scale data sources, ensuring excellent data governance, quality, and performance for business intelligence.
  • Collaborate closely with ML Engineers to operationalise data flows to and from MLOps platforms, focusing on automating pipelines and managing data versioning.
  • Optimise data storage and computing resources across the platform to speed up data science experiments and model training workloads, while effectively managing costs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working in a core Data Engineering role, including 5+ years with Snowflake, strong SQL skills, and proficiency in Python for data manipulation and engineering.
  • Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks such as PySpark or Dask for large-scale data transformation, along with solid practical experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, ECS).
  • Strong knowledge of RBAC security models and secure data connection protocols, ensuring reliable, scalable cloud data solutions.
