GBV Caseworker Specialist

GBV Caseworker Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled GBV Caseworker to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will provide direct support to vulnerable women and girls and survivors of GBV.

• Care Coordination: Provide survivor-centered GBV case management services, including assessment, basic counselling, care plan development, safety plan development, and service coordination.
• Service Provision: Coordinate with the casework supervisor and seek support when needed.
• Client Support: Provide information on available services and support survivors' informed choices through referral, accompaniment, service coordination, and follow-up.
• Emergency Assistance: Distribute emergency cash and material assistance based on individual needs assessments.
• Program Development: Participate in regular case review meetings and coaching sessions.

• Feedback Mechanism: Seek feedback from clients and adapt services accordingly.
• Post-Distribution Monitoring: Support post-distribution monitoring.
• Data Management: Carefully document service provision and maintain case files.
• Compliance: Adhere to strict data protection and information-sharing protocols.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain contact with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders and humanitarian partners.
• Service Integration: Coordinate with other service providers and community focal points to strengthen access to services.
• Case Management: Organize case management meetings with other service providers.
• Sector Collaboration: Coordinate with MHPSS, child protection, health, and other sectors to strengthen integration and referrals.
• Program Representation: Represent program goals and GBV standards.

• Security Protocols: Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies.
• Workplace Culture: Foster a safe and supportive working environment.
• Core Principles: Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of gender equality.
• Professional Image: Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the program and organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Relevant experience helping women; relevant academic experience such as social work is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to core principles of GBV programming, including gender equality and survivor-centered support services.
• Demonstrated familiarity, respect, and empathy for affected populations.
• Commitment to championing survivors.
• Good interpersonal and advocacy skills.
• Very good listening and communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Pashtu language is mandatory for this position.
