Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience to lead our team and drive the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to lead a team, deliver bug-free features, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and ensure timely project delivery. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of backend engineers, designing and implementing scalable backend systems, developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot or similar frameworks, ensuring secure and efficient data handling with RDBMS and NoSQL databases, working with Docker, Kubernetes, and authentication frameworks like OAuth/OpenID Connect, setting up CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments using cloud-based or on-prem solutions, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs.

Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  2. Backend Architecture: Design and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.
  3. API Development: Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
  4. Data Handling: Ensure secure and efficient data handling with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
  5. Containerization and Orchestration: Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and authentication frameworks like OAuth/OpenID Connect.
  6. CI/CD Pipeline Management: Set up CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using cloud-based or on-prem solutions.
  7. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot critical production issues with urgency, ensuring system stability.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in backend efficiency, performance, and security.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Technical Skills:
  1. Java Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development (JRE, JVM, JDK, SE/EE).
  2. Spring Boot and Microservices: Strong experience with Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  3. Development Tools: Proficiency in GitHub, Maven/Gradle, and cloud design patterns.
  4. Event-Driven Development: Experience with event-driven development (EDD), messaging frameworks, and monitoring tools (New Relic, ELK, Splunk).
  5. Database Experience: Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Memcached).
  6. Analytical and Debugging Skills: Strong analytical and debugging skills with expertise in scaling applications.
  7. Agile/Scrum Experience: Agile/Scrum experience and excellent communication skills.
  8. Frontend Technology Knowledge: Experience with frontend technologies (React/Angular) for seamless collaboration is a plus.
  9. Performance Tuning and Security Expertise: Background in performance tuning, memory optimization, and security best practices is a plus.
  10. Large-Scale Enterprise Applications: Exposure to iterative development and large-scale enterprise applications is a plus.
