Job Summary

This is a leadership role that involves working on Hadoop Migration projects. As a senior developer, you will be accountable for ensuring code quality and functional validations.

You will work with Technical Leads to ensure the solution is implemented as per the design specifications. In case of performance or technical feasibility issues, you will provide inputs to the Technical Leads on alternate solutions.

The primary goal is to design and develop migration strategies for Hadoop to Teradata Vantage migration projects. You will understand the customer's existing Hadoop ecosystem including all technology stack components involving batch and real-time data pipelines.

This includes understanding the current implementation of Hadoop technology components such as HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Nifi, Spark Streaming, etc.

You will also understand the proposed target architecture leveraging the modern data stack components such as Teradata Vantage ecosystem including object store like S3, Azure blob and other cloud-native services.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing migration strategies for Hadoop to Teradata Vantage migration projects.
  • Working on Hadoop Migration projects.
  • Ensuring code quality and functional validations.
  • Understanding the customer's existing Hadoop ecosystem.

In order to excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of IT work experience.
  • 5+ years in Leadership roles.
  • Minimum 2 years of Data Analytics related experience.
  • Minimum 2 year's experience in Hadoop ecosystem.

Prior experience in ETL tools such as Informatica and knowledge of Teradata product are also highly desirable.

We are looking for a subject matter expert with deep knowledge of Hadoop components such as HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Nifi, Spark Streaming, etc. Additionally, ability to encapsulate knowledge for sharing across multiple projects is a must.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
