What you will do

1. Design and develop migration strategies for Hadoop to Teradata Vantage migration projects.
2. Understand the customer's existing Hadoop ecosystem including all technology stack components involving batch and real-time data pipelines.
3. Understand the current implementation of Hadoop technology components such as HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Nifi, Spark Streaming, etc.
4. Understand proposed target architecture leveraging the modern data stack components such as Teradata Vantage ecosystem including object store like S3, Azure Blob, and other cloud-native services.
5. Leverage existing migration tools and methodology to efficiently convert Hadoop technical stack to the Teradata Vantage ecosystem.
6. Work closely with customer SMEs and Technical Leads on understanding the migration strategy and solution.
7. Report any issues or risks to Technical Leads and Project Manager.

In this role you will

• Ensure successful delivery of Hadoop Migration projects.
• Be accountable for code quality and functional validations.
• Work with Technical Leads to ensure the solution is implemented as per the design specifications.
• Provide inputs to the Technical Leads on alternative solutions in case of performance or technical feasibility issues.

Who You'll Work With

• Report to and work under the direction of the Project Manager and Technical Leads to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Collaborate with customer SMEs and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables as per requirements.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

• Minimum 5 years of IT work experience, with 5+ years in Leadership roles.
• Minimum 2 years of Data Analytics related experience.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Hadoop ecosystem.
• Deep knowledge of Hadoop components such as HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Nifi, Spark Streaming, etc.
• Knowledge of Teradata product is a major plus.
• Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica is a major plus.
