Accounting Manager Role Summary

The Accounting Manager is a critical role within the Finance team, responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, oversee accounting functions, and prepare financial reports.

About the Role:

This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who can provide strategic guidance on financial operations and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Ensuring all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with IFRS and relevant GAAP standards.
  • Supervising the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and ensuring the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Providing guidance on the application and interpretation of IFRS and GAAP principles to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborating with relevant teams to align financial reporting with the company's strategic goals.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a professional certification such as CA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, including at least 4 years in a managerial capacity. Prior experience in a technology or ride-hailing company is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI and SQL is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience in a global, complex organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
