Data Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our analytics team. Your focus will be on analyzing data, building dbt models, writing SQL queries, and designing a semantic layer to support dashboards and reports.
Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to provide actionable insights for decision-making, identifying trends and patterns that inform business strategy.
  • Build dbt Models: Develop and manage dbt models to transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • SQL Query Writing: Craft complex SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from Amazon Redshift and other sources, optimizing performance and scalability.
  • Semantic Layer Development: Design and implement a semantic layer to enable consistent and efficient reporting and dashboarding, streamlining data consumption.
  • Data Integration: Consolidate and prepare data from diverse sources like Redpanda, DynamoDB, Amplitude, Hevo, and Salesforce, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Dashboard and Report Building: Collaborate with stakeholders to create interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools, driving business insights and informed decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data engineers and business teams to ensure data accuracy, usability, and alignment with business objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in dbt and SQL, with expertise in Python for data modeling and transformation.
  • Experience working with Amazon Redshift or similar cloud data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with data sources like Redpanda, DynamoDB, Amplitude, collectdb, medusa, and Salesforce.
  • Expertise in designing dashboards and reports for analytics and business insights.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and semantic layer design.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of Python for data analysis or automation.
  • Prior experience in analytics for dashboards or reporting, with a strong track record of delivering results.
