Job Title: Healthcare Professional - Medication Management

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper dispensation and distribution of medications to patients, as well as supervising the unit-dose drug dispensation and distribution. They will also review patient profiles and CPOE to prevent drug interactions and promote rational drug use.

  • Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Monitoring inventory stock levels and suggesting changes as necessary;
    • Issuing and filling requisitions accurately, with prompt delivery of unit-dose medications to the Nursing unit;
    • Preparing and forwarding requisitions to the Pharmacy store as required;
    • Receiving goods from the Pharmacy store, physically checking and shelving stock in the proper location at the specified temperature;
    • Providing current and accurate drug information to healthcare professionals when required;
    • Preparation of monthly reports detailing fast-moving/slow-moving/short expiry/expired/broken, damaged items;
    • Conducting regular inspections of nursing units and clinics to monitor the proper storage and distribution of patient floor stock, controlled drugs, and emergency medications;
    • Assisting with staff training and development;
    • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of interventions, drug information, and related relevant information.

  • Requirements:

    • A strong understanding of medication management principles and practices;
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
    • Knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures;
    • Experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
