Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Expert to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of our Oracle 19c databases with a focus on high availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the configuration and maintenance of Oracle 19c databases in production environments.
  • Optimize database performance using OEM, AWR/ASH, and STATSPACK.
  • Implement advanced tuning techniques, including partitioning, indexing, and parallel query, to improve data warehouse query performance.
  • Configure and maintain Data Guard, robust RMAN backups, and DR strategies to ensure seamless failover and data protection.
  • Enforce database security measures, including encryption, role-based access, and auditing, to meet CIS compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement schema changes and capacity planning for large-scale analytics projects.
  • Develop and implement scripts to automate routine tasks, such as backups and alerts, using Shell/PL/SQL.
  • Mentor junior DBAs and provide best practices guidance to ensure consistent and high-quality database administration.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, with a strong focus on Oracle 19c and RAC in production environments.
  • Proven proficiency in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and advanced backup/recovery strategies with RMAN.
  • Experience with data warehouse architectures, large data sets, and partitioning strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL debugging, query tuning, and execution plan analysis.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AWR, ASH, ADDM, and statspack for performance diagnostics.
