Remote Medical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Support Specialist to provide administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers from the comfort of their own homes.

  • Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling for patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Verify patient insurance and eligibility prior to appointments to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Conduct patient intake calls, collect medical history, and document information accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Handle inbound and outbound patient communications, including calls, texts, and emails, with professionalism and empathy.
  • Assist in prescription refills and prior authorizations under physician supervision to ensure continuity of care.
  • Coordinate referrals, lab tests, imaging, and follow-up care to ensure patients receive comprehensive treatment.
  • Prepare and update patient charts, progress notes, and documentation before provider visits to maintain accurate records.
  • Support telehealth sessions by guiding patients with setup and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or medical administration is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office, clinical setting, or virtual healthcare environment is required.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks, Athena, Kareo, or similar is necessary.
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) are essential for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality requirements is mandatory.
  • Tech-savvy with knowledge of tools like Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, and Microsoft Office is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medical Assistant Certification is a plus.
  • Experience working with urgent care or primary care practices is desirable.
  • Bilingual (English and another language) is a plus.
