Cyber Security Project Lead

Lead and manage the development of secure software solutions as an experienced Software Project Manager with a strong background in Cybersecurity.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Project Lead to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of software development projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from planning to delivery, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the process.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance: Integrate security best practices into project planning, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between technical teams, executive leadership, and clients, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly related to cybersecurity threats, to minimize potential impacts on the project.
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with developers, security engineers, and QA teams to define project milestones and deliverables, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective resource allocation.
  • Agile & Scrum Methodologies: Lead Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives to optimize team performance and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Ensure that projects stay within budget while meeting security and performance requirements, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal resource utilization.
  • Incident Response Planning: Collaborate with security teams to develop and implement incident response strategies, ensuring timely and effective responses to potential security incidents.
  • Technology Oversight: Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and integrate relevant security measures into software development, ensuring that our solutions remain secure and compliant.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software project management, with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
  • Experience with secure SDLC methodologies, such as DevSecOps and Secure Coding Practices.
  • Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps practices, with a strong understanding of iterative development and continuous integration.
  • Familiarity with security tools, including vulnerability scanners, penetration testing frameworks, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CSM, CISSP, CISM, or AWS Security Specialty, demonstrating expertise in project management, security, and technology.
Preferred Experience:
  • Managing projects involving cloud security, application security, or data protection.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and secure coding practices, with experience in integrating security into the development process.
