Database Administrator Job Description\

We are seeking a highly skilled database administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity and security of a database.

\

This includes planning and developing the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Additionally, you will be responsible for transforming data for various reporting and migration needs.

\

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of SQL and experience with database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.

\

A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required, along with three to five years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.

\

Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and impeccable attention to detail are essential for this role.

\

The selected candidate will have hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications, excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL, familiarity with database design, documentation and coding, and experience with Windows server environments.

\

Extensive experience with database technologies such as MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB is required. Experience with cloud services such as AWS and Microsoft Azure is also a plus.

  • Install and maintain database performance\
  • Develop processes for optimizing database security\
  • Set and maintain database standards\
  • Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards\
  • Create and manage data warehouses for custom reports via third party APIs\
  • Ensure data is stored securely and optimally\
  • Manage database access\
  • Performance tune database systems\
  • Install, upgrade, and manage database applications\
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data\
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses\
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors/queries\
  • Recommend and implement emerging database technologies\
  • Create automation for repeating database tasks
\Requirements:\
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field\
  • Three to five years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field\
  • Proven working experience as a Database Administrator\
  • Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications\
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL\
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding\
  • Experience with Windows server environments\
