**Job Title:** Community Mental Health Worker

Job Overview:

The MHPSS Roving Community Mental Health Worker supports case management teams through identification, referral, and provision of psychosocial services, while promoting mental health integration into primary healthcare. This role requires close collaboration with community members, staff, and stakeholders to achieve program objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to mobilize people to develop and maintain relationships with staff and communities. Strong emotional maturity and agility are necessary for working in a fast-paced environment.

This role involves:

  • Identifying individuals requiring mental health and psychosocial support through outreach activities and home visits.
  • Providing accurate referrals to supported PHCCs, local NGOs, and INGOs, and disseminating information about various programs and services.
  • Coordinating the management of mental health referrals between community-based mental health care centers and mhGAP-supported primary healthcare centers or IMC MHPSS/health supported PHCCs.
  • Promoting the integration of mental health into primary healthcare at PHCs.
  • Conducting awareness sessions on Mental Health topics and providing reports on awareness raising and other PSS services.
  • Providing psychoeducation sessions for MHPSS clients and their respective families.
  • Conducting interviews with service users (Refugees and host population) and their families to assess and review their situation and provide advice and referral as necessary.
  • Completing intake assessments, evaluations, treatment recommendations, reviews, and other documentation as necessary.
  • Conducting home visits to clients when needed.
  • Working closely with the MHPSS manager to support case management teams in implementing MHPSS activities.
  • Prioritizing trainings and team meetings as required by the direct supervisor.
  • Being well-integrated in the local community and having a good knowledge about the area, region, and its population.
  • Building close relationships with all active organizations in the area of operations and maintaining constant relationships.
  • Responsible for filling all relevant tools and maintaining regular updates in close coordination with the case management team.
