Project Engineer and Assurance Specialist

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is implementing the Flood Recovery Programme (FRP), a multi-sectoral initiative to support climate-resilient, inclusive recovery in severely affected regions.

As part of this programme, we are seeking a qualified Project Engineer and Assurance Specialist to lead construction and rehabilitation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing engineering teams, strong computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Plan, assess, and design civil works and infrastructure projects.
  • Procure goods, equipment, and services for civil works.
  • Manage civil works contracts, monitor construction, and ensure project completion.
  • Verify invoices and certify project completion.
  • Facilitate knowledge management, reporting, and archiving.

This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all construction projects meet quality standards, are completed on time and within budget, and provide guidance and support to national engineers and contractors' personnel.

Successful candidates will have a background in civil engineering, with expertise in planning, design, and implementation of infrastructure projects. They should be familiar with UNDP policies and procedures, as well as procurement rules and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects, with experience in leading cross-functional teams and working in a fast-paced environment. They should also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
