Job Summary
The role of Database Systems Engineer involves managing and administering large-scale database systems, ensuring high availability and performance. This includes coordinating key database releases across QA, Pre-Production, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments. Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration: Manage and administer large-scale database systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Release Management: Coordinate key database releases across QA, Pre-Production, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments.
  • Product Support: Contribute to product support tools and processes, including run books, monitoring, and knowledge bases.
  • Upgrade and Patching: Install upgrades and patches to existing database servers, improving system efficiency and reliability.
  • Automation: Automate routine maintenance tasks using scripting technologies, reducing manual effort and minimizing errors.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and solve routine problems using standard procedures, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Collaboration: Work with IT Server Management to resolve events, incidents, and problems according to Service Level Agreements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality of delivery by automating routine tasks.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in 24x7 on-call tier 3 support on a weekly rotating schedule, ensuring prompt response to critical issues.
  • Documentation: Contribute to process and troubleshooting documentation, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Virtualization: Support virtualized environments, leveraging technology to optimize resource utilization and scalability.
