Senior Specialist Histopathology Role

The role of Senior Specialist in Histopathology involves providing independent consultant status and undertaking regular services and specified administrative activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • providing accessible, compassionate, ethical, evidence-based, and patient-centered care to all patients in the laboratory set-up.
  • participating in departmental and organizational performance and quality improvement activities.
  • demonstrating sound theoretical knowledge of current areas of practice and relating it to patient care.
Requirements for Success

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • a MBBS degree with structured postgraduate training from a reputable institution.
  • a FCPS, FRCPath, American Board, or equivalent qualification.
  • at least one to two years of experience in a tertiary care hospital after clearance of postgraduate examination.
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • the ability to work under pressure.
  • proficiency in using related computer software packages.
  • good interpersonal skills and a commitment to learning, growth, and self-development.

The section of Histopathology provides state-of-the-art, semi-automated laboratory facilities that accommodate all samples for diagnosis according to international standards. The section caters to the diagnosis of neoplastic and non-neoplastic lesions, offering a vast panel of Immunohistochemical stains to aid in accurate diagnoses.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside a large and experienced faculty with diverse subspecialty interests and engage in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training.
