Economic Policy Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Economic Policy Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in conducting and facilitating in-depth research and policy analysis on economic, trade, and fiscal matters relevant to Pakistan and the region.

The successful applicant will be responsible for producing research papers, policy briefs, and opinion pieces to be published under our organization's banner. They will also prepare periodic economic outlook reports and commentary aligned with our vision and values.

The Economic Policy Expert will develop and maintain a repository of economic indicators, databases to track and assess macroeconomic trends, government budgets, taxation reforms, and international trade developments. They will represent us as a subject matter expert in media, seminars, conferences, and other public forums.

The role involves advising our council, management, and relevant committees on emerging economic issues. The Economic Policy Expert will collaborate with national and international institutions for joint research and knowledge-sharing. They will support our advocacy efforts by providing data-backed inputs for policy recommendations.

Requirements
  • A Master's degree holder (or higher) in Economics, Public Policy, International Trade, Development Studies, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience in economic research, policy analysis, or advisory roles, preferably with a government department, multilateral or research institutions, or professional associations.
Key Skills
  • Demonstrated expertise and passion for macroeconomic analysis, particularly, fiscal and taxation policy.
  • Strong publication record (e.g., policy papers, articles, op-eds) and interest in writing.
  • Familiarity with Pakistan's fiscal and taxation environment and good understanding of international fiscal dynamics.
