Horticultural Leader

Establishes and maintains high horticultural standards, providing guidance, support and motivation for the horticultural team.

A key responsibility is working closely with volunteers to develop long-term productive relationships and grow the size of the volunteer program.

The successful candidate will manage overall plant health and soil nutrition strategies, incorporating sustainable gardening practices and integrated pest management in gardens.

A systematic approach to plant records will be established, including direction of the plant collection policy and design aesthetic in coordination with the organization's master plan, mission and strategies.

Critical collaboration with other departments, such as Grounds and Buildings Manager, will ensure effective heating, cooling and maintenance of greenhouses, irrigation systems and horticultural equipment.

• Organize and lead instructional classes in horticulture-related topics
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and volunteers
• Develop and implement effective communication plans to engage stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in horticultural leadership role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
