Sales Development Professional

This role involves checking incoming emails from clients and taking necessary action. Daily sales calls are made to existing and prospective clients through telephone and personal visits.

A key part of the job is receiving rate enquiries from clients, sending request messages to F-Agents with pertinent details of shipments, and preparing quotations in response.

The Sales Development Professional will follow up on quotations until acceptance or rejection. Upon quotation acceptance, they will obtain business confirmation from clients in the form of routing orders and shipping instructions.

Another important responsibility is keeping clients informed about pre-alerts/status and actual arrival of shipments. Additionally, the Sales Development Professional will follow up with clients regarding freight dues recovery until the same is settled.

Maintenance of updated airfreight rates and seafreight rates registers in a country-wise pattern is also required.

Job Specification:

  • Preparation of monthly sales activity reports (bifurcated into weeks) for submission to the Country Manager.
  • Dispatching introductory letters to prospective companies and filing them in a company introduction file for record and follow-up.
  • Coordinating with the Exports department regarding rates-air/sea to submit quotations to exporters and handing over export jobs to the Export department upon acceptance.
