Senior Health, Safety, and Environment Officer

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to assist the Executive Manager – Security & HSE in ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy work environment across our organization's premises. This role involves overseeing the placement and functionality of safety equipment in coordination with vendors, facilitating compliance with health and safety regulations, and liaising with government authorities for safety drills and emergency preparedness.

1. Develop and implement effective Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) strategies and policies to minimize occupational risks, including diseases, injuries, and lost hours, and share progress with management periodically.
2. Oversee the procurement, placement, and maintenance of safety equipment in coordination with vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
3. Ensure the safety of contractors, partners, and visitors by promoting a culture of safety awareness and enforcing safety protocols.
4. Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments for high-risk areas such as working at height, transportation, electrical work, equipment maintenance, fire prevention, and pandemic response.
5. Promote the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safety protocols to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
6. Organize HSE training, drills, and information sessions to foster a safety culture in collaboration with relevant government health and safety departments.
7. Support branches in executing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with local regulations, fostering a culture of accountability and adherence to best practices.
8. Handle crisis situations effectively and work collaboratively with security agencies and regulatory bodies for security and safety measures at all premises.
9. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to enhance workplace safety awareness and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
10. Regularly update and disseminate HSE guidelines to all employees, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe work environment.
11. Assist in incident reporting, risk assessment, and emergency response planning to minimize workplace hazards and prevent future incidents.
12. Establish a reporting mechanism for accidents and incidents to ensure timely action and follow-up on audit findings, incidents, and regulatory requirements for continuous improvement.
13. Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits, including machinery and tools, to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in security management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in security, safety, or HSE roles, with liaison/coordination experience with government departments, preferably in a financial institution.
• Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor are highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, including OHSAS 18001 & ISO 45001.
• Experience in risk assessment and hazard identification is essential.
