Job Description

The Project Officer plays a crucial role in supporting project development, implementation, and evaluation. This position requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills to provide guidance to external consultants and government officials.

The Project Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring the FAO Strategic Framework. This involves comprehensive technical assistance for project planning, development, and implementation, as well as review of relevant documents and reports.

In addition to project coordination and review of assessments, this role also involves supervising the preparation of written outputs, including background papers, analyses, and report sections.

The Project Officer contributes to consultative meetings, conferences, and workshops, providing advice on policy and strategy development, national protocols, and guidelines.

This position ensures that expenditures are kept within allocated resources, making adjustments as necessary during implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree in business or public administration, agricultural economics, development economics, or a related field.
  • Seven years of experience in project or programme management, administration, technical cooperation, and policy advice.
  • Proficiency in English and intermediate knowledge of one other FAO official language.
