Meter Reading Supervisor

The role of Meter Reading Supervisor is a key position within our organization that requires exceptional leadership and coordination skills. As a senior member of the Meter Reading team, you will be responsible for guiding and supervising Meter Readers/Meter Data Maintenance Officers (MDMO) in their daily activities to ensure accurate and timely meter readings.

Your primary objective will be to provide direction and oversight to the team to achieve high-quality billing results while adhering to organizational policies, SOPs, environmental regulations, HSEQ standards, business code of conduct, and supervisor guidelines.

• Meter Reading Management (40%):
  • Oversee the reading of 100% consumer population of the IBC as per monthly meter reading schedule.
  • Ensure complete reading of Cycle day-wise Meter Reading Units (MRU) on the specified day in the schedule.
  • Validate that the entire reading activity is carried out through HHU (Hand Held) Device; meter reader to exercise due care in handling the device.
  • Verify inactive consumers during each month's reading and take corrective actions such as billing activation, move-out with allowance where necessary.
  • Guide meter readers to record visible discrepancies during reading routine and undertake follow-ups until action is taken on at least the critical ones.
  • Rotate MRs based on Meter Reading Units (MRU) on a monthly basis.
  • Dispatch MRs timely along with maintaining a strict punctuality routine.
  • Monitor BDV performance and site inspections against bill-not-received complaints.
  • Highlight all meter-related and other discrepancies to the recovery team for timely resolution in the following month.
• Performance Monitoring (20%):
  • Monitor billing of Average cases with special focus on Continuous Average cases and routes highlighted for corrective action.
  • Coordinate with AM Data Administration to gain insights on Assessed/Average, abnormal billing variations and other anomalies.
  • Use HHU dashboard and reports for better system control.
  • Process IRBs and other billing-related documentation on SAP, meter change advisories and supplementary billing.
  • Forward documents to relevant sections to ensure proper billing of leftover units in replaced meters/charging of due units.
• Coordination (20%):
  • Handle device-related issues such as connectivity, battery, display, ensuring uninterrupted field activity.
  • Coordinate with central HHU team and vendor for timely replacement of old/damaged devices and for acquiring new ones from IT.
• HSE Management (10%):
  • Conduct surprise visits on site to monitor implementation of safety laws/tools as per defined HSEQ standards.
  • Facilitate safety trainings for concerned individuals on site.
  • Support zero fatality vision through adherence to defined safety criteria such as SLA, fire and safety.
  • Execute techniques to improve working environment and ensures adherence with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• People Management (10%):
  • Identify training requirements of staff; contribute to performance management of direct reports; manage development, career planning and engagement of subordinates in coordination with HR.
  • Handle administrative issues including recruitment, leaves, grievances and other issues; provide guidance as required.
  • Establish team spirit and ensures seamless interaction among team members; ensures parity in learning and growth opportunities.

  Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Minimum Education: Graduate degree
    • Education (Mandatory)
    • Education (Preferred)
  • Trainings & Certifications:
    • Mandatory: Basic knowledge of electricity meters with respect to type and make; knowledge of handheld meter devices; record keeping; intermediate knowledge of MS Office; Safe Work Practices.
    • Preferred: Additional trainings & certifications as applicable.
  • Experience:
