Careers in Museum Preservation

We are seeking a skilled Museum Technician to join our team. As a key member of the museum staff, you will be responsible for maintaining and preserving our vast collection of artifacts.

About the Role:

• You will work closely with curators and other museum staff to ensure that all exhibits are properly set up and maintained.
• You will also assist in the development of new exhibit displays and interactives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and conserving museum collections and artifacts.
• Preparing and installing exhibits, including setting up display cases and interactive elements.
• Providing excellent customer service to visitors and responding to inquiries about the museum and its collections.
• Working collaboratively with curators and other museum staff to develop and implement new exhibit ideas.
• Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and repairing equipment and facilities.

Requirements:

• A degree in Museum Studies or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience working in a museum or cultural institution is essential.
• You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• You must be able to lift and move heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods of time.
