Job Overview

This position involves working on a variety of HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing these systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.


Responsibilities
  1. System Installation: Install new HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps.
  2. System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on existing HVAC systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  3. System Repair: Repair or replace faulty components in HVAC systems to minimize downtime and prevent damage.
  4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections, including documentation of work performed and materials used.

Requirements
  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
  2. Certifications: Valid certifications in HVAC, such as Diploma of Associate Engineer in Refrigeration, required.
  3. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, repair, and installation, including experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  4. Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians.
  6. Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  7. Financial Knowledge: Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
  8. Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations.
  9. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
  10. Other Skills and Abilities: Uses personal computer and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders and ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
