KYC/CDD Team Leader Job Description

Our organization is seeking an experienced professional to lead our Know Your Customer/Client Due Diligence (KYC/CDD) function. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and risk indicators.

Job Summary:

The KYC/CDD Team Leader will be responsible for managing a team that conducts end-to-end reviews, onboarding, and periodic refreshes of high-risk clients. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for conducting KYC/CDD reviews, onboarding, and periodic refreshes of high-risk clients
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and global AML standards
  • Review client documentation, ownership structures, and conduct enhanced due diligence for high-risk customers, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), trusts, and charities
  • Elevate and document any suspicious activities or red flags
  • Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to junior analysts to build a strong KYC/CDD function
Requirements:
  • 5 to 10 years of progressive banking experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on KYC/CDD
  • Deep understanding of complex entity structures, PEPs, charities, and other high-risk customer categories
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and risk indicators
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field
  • AML/KYC certifications (such as Certified Anti-Money Launderer) are a plus
