About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Management Professional to support our client in overseeing and managing all financial aspects of their organization.

This role involves:

  • Financial Reporting: Preparing income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports to provide accurate insights into the organization's financial performance.
  • Accounting Review: Reviewing the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications to ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
  • Complex Analysis: Analyzing and evaluating complex accounting variances, providing recommendations for reserves, assets, and expenditures to optimize financial decision-making.
  • Accounts Management: Maintaining, recording, and reconciling billings and accounts receivables for large clients and accounts.
  • Month-End Process: Creating month-end accounting entries and reconciling discrepancies with the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Performing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring transactions align with accounting standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Examining financial statements to ensure compliance with Canadian accounting regulations.
  • Escalated Queries: Answering escalated queries regarding various accounting issues and reports.
  • Full Cycle Payroll: Responsible for full cycle payroll including semi-monthly payroll cycles.
  • Payroll Processing: Processing payroll for both Hourly & Salaried employees.
  • ROE Support: Supporting with ROEs and reviewing payroll data including overtime, bonuses, deductions, and year-end.

Requirements

  • Certifications: ACCA, CA, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
  • CANADIAN EXPERIENCE: Prior experience of working with Canadian Accounting Consultants/Accounting firms.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Accounting Software: Hands-on experience in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, FreshBooks, or Wave to manage.
  • Accounting Fundamentals: Advanced knowledge of accounting fundamentals and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to explain complex financial information clearly.
  • Remote Work: Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a remote setting with a Canadian client.
