Tax Accountant Position

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our team and support our clients in Canada.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional tax services to our clients, ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage year-end tax files and slips, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Stay up-to-date on various CRA/MRQ/IRS tax slips and related tax regimes.
  • Validate tax data by cross-referencing tax reports with internal client account/activity information.
  • Conduct regular reviews of Canadian tax withholding and remittance.
  • Collaborate with senior tax staff to develop client tax plans.
  • Examine personal and corporate tax returns for accuracy.
  • Prepare personal, corporate, non-profit organization information, and charitable tax returns.
  • Work with the Tax team to distribute tax slips and remittance accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify and escalate discrepancies in client data files promptly.
  • Ensure financial accounts comply with the Canadian Tax Act.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in tax functions and/or client tax reporting.
  • ACCA, CA, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred), or equivalent education and experience.
  • Prior experience working with Canadian Tax consultants/Canadian Accounting firms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote setup.
