Job Title: Supply Chain Manager – Imports

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our import supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Negotiate with foreign and local vendors to secure optimal prices and terms for materials/parts across multiple projects.
  2. Collaborate with the engineering department to identify cost-saving opportunities through simplification, standardization, deletion programs, and import substitution.
  3. Review and finalize all procurement and purchase documents, ensuring timely deliveries from suppliers.
  4. Update documentation and track final payments to suppliers for on-time delivery.
  5. Evaluate supplier performance to assess their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements, developing action plans for continuous improvement.
  6. Conduct on-site visits and measurements to assess vendor manufacturing capabilities.
  7. Manage all import activities, including purchase orders, remittances/LCs, and shipments to ensure timely arrival of materials.
  8. Coordinate with finance/clearing agents for the timely clearance of imported goods/materials after arrival.
  9. Build strategic alliances with stakeholders to drive business growth.
  10. Identify and develop profitable supplier relationships.
  11. Control purchase orders and arrange standard-quality materials as per production requirements to ensure timely material availability.
  12. Manage all import-related matters and handle correspondence directly.
  13. Arrange LCs and freight for import shipments.
  14. Report procurement status to management.

Requirements:

We require an MBA in Supply Chain, preferably with a mechanical/industrial engineering background. A minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably in the automotive sector, is necessary. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with supply chain functions, particularly import handling, and excellent communication skills to correspond with foreign vendors.

Bonus Points:

A degree in International Business or Logistics would be beneficial, but not essential. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are highly valued.
