Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in an organization's supply chain, responsible for strategically identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to procure goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively.

This is a dynamic position that requires a unique blend of business acumen, technical expertise, and interpersonal skills. As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals, identifying opportunities for value creation, and leveraging data analysis for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing and Supplier Management
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies: Align sourcing plans with organizational objectives, identify opportunities for value creation, and leverage data analysis for informed decision-making.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage agreements: Secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements.
  • Cost Management and Process Optimization
    • Analyze and calculate procurement costs: Track expenditures, conduct benchmarking, and identify opportunities for cost reduction, driving purchasing decisions based on data-driven insights.
    • Leverage technology and innovation: Utilize procurement software and tools to automate tasks, track performance, analyze data, and keep abreast of emerging trends to enhance sourcing outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Foster effective communication: Ensure clear, concise, and timely communication with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and senior management to avoid misunderstandings and build rapport.
  • Other Key Responsibilities
    • Write sourcing documentation and statements: Create and manage Request for Proposals (RFPs) and other necessary documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination, sourcing, or international trade.
  • Strong knowledge of material acquisition and import/export processes, especially with China.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience managing projects across borders.
