Plant Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mechanical and electrical plant equipment, including chillers, pumps, boilers, air compressors, generators, water treatment systems, and other critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor critical plant systems such as chillers, boilers, pumps, air compressors, cooling towers, water treatment systems, and HVAC-related machinery.
  • Start, stop, and adjust equipment as required to maintain desired operating conditions.
  • Perform visual and instrument inspections to ensure smooth and safe operation of facility.
  • Conduct routine operational checks and minor maintenance tasks such as filter cleaning, oil level inspection, and lubrication of moving parts.
  • Troubleshoot faults in equipment and systems, and escalate complex issues to maintenance engineers or supervisors.
  • Monitor operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, and energy consumption using BMS, SCADA, or control panels.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and abnormal readings, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Report daily plant performance and abnormalities to the Facility Engineer or Plant Supervisor.
  • Ensure proper functioning of utilities like water supply, steam, compressed air, and chilled water systems in accordance with demand.
  • Conduct basic testing of treated water, boiler water, and other plant fluids if required.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear proper PPE during plant operations.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations regarding emissions, waste disposal, and energy usage.
  • Participate in safety drills, risk assessments, and toolbox talks as needed.
Requirements:
  • Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related engineering field.
  • 4–5 years of relevant experience in a building services plant or industrial facility.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical safety, and control panel operation.
  • Ability to read gauges, interpret readings, and operate control systems confidently.
