About This Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Architect to anchor our Development team as we delve into the nuances of our primary tech stack.

This role requires more than just technical mastery; we're searching for a leader who can guide, uplift, and amplify the skills of our evolving team through consistent training, mentorship, and a genuine passion for our stack.

This individual will be responsible for advocating and pioneering engineering best practices, encompassing coding standards, design guidelines, testing methodologies, and development workflows.

They will work in tandem with Software Engineers to sketch intricate technical designs and sculpt a future-proof technical roadmap.

This role is ideal for someone with rich expertise in software development principles, contemporary technologies, and architectural nuances.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Advocate and pioneer engineering best practices, encompassing coding standards, design guidelines, testing methodologies, and development workflows.
  2. Work in tandem with Software Engineers to sketch intricate technical designs and sculpt a future-proof technical roadmap.
  3. Join forces with product development squads to echo groundbreaking innovations conceived by the platform team.
  4. Engage with Technical Product Owners during discovery to aid in assessing feasibility, capacity, and risk mapping for technological trajectories.
  5. Formulate Guardrails, Guidelines, ADRs, and spearhead the Techradar.
  6. Nurture engineers alongside Team Success Managers, guiding them on their career paths and delivering balanced skill evaluations.
  7. Conceptualise, develop, test, and roll out multifaceted solutions within software delivery teams.
  8. Champion the identification, analysis, and management of technical debt within your squad and across the organisation, strategizing with the Technical Product Owner to prioritise its mitigation.
  9. Design, implement, and oversee Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to ensure reliability and performance standards are met but exceeded.
  10. Possess an intimate understanding of Cloud Native application development to steer the organisation's endeavours in the cloud landscape.
  11. Leverage expertise in microservices and containerization to bolster the software ecosystem, ensuring scalability and resilience.
